"Winchester"
In 1973 "IBM" developed the magnetic drive with a capacity of 16 KBytes of information; it's hard magnetic disk consisted of 30 cylinders with 30 sectors in each one. The drive was given the name "Winchester" by analogy with high performance and 30/30 caliber of a modern automatic rifle. "IBM" practically stopped the production of HDD for personal computers having authorized their production to "Hitachi" company. In 2003 "Hitachi" company approved the production of some Winchester disk drives models to a Chinese company "ExcelStor".
